Cells use non-equilibrium forces to create, sustain and dynamically control structure formation processes. Despite a detailed identification of molecular constituents, it still remains a major challenge to reconstruct minimal active matter systems, which recover biological functions and allowing the identification of the underlying physical principles. In the present project we will reconstitute active microtubule vesicles, aiming for the design of a minimal active migratory system and elucidate fundamental principles of active transport by reconstitution of transport processes in complex actin networks.
