Project C2 is devoted to the experimental investigations of the heat transfer phenomena during the drop impact onto a superheated wall with special consideration of the evaporation near the three-phase contact line. The investigations with high spatial and temporal resolution are carried out with several drops in order to better understand and characterize the effects of droplet interactions. Process parameters up to the near-critical state region are varied and effects on structured wall surfaces are also examined.
