Mechanical and Electrical Phenomena of Droplets under the Influence of Strong Electric Fields (C05)

The TP-C5 investigates the impact of electric fields on the mechanical and electrical behavior of sessile water droplets under several ambient conditions experimentally. Besides the investigation of the ageing mechanisms including the droplet movement as well as the inception field strength of partial discharges for ambient conditions, the nucleation of supercooled water droplets and their interaction with a solid wall are investigated. The research shall enhance the knowledge of the ageing mechanisms as well as the understanding of the occurring phenomena.
