This proposed one-day workshop addresses key issues in optical control plane development and integration in Grid environments. The goals of the workshop involve identification of problems with optical control planes for Grid-based networking, exposing key research topics in the area, and determining what is really needed to achieve global interoperability among optical control planes. The workshop builds off constructive results from an initial workshop introducing similar ideas. This workshop will assemble active leaders in the field and is restricted to about 40 participants by invitation. The workshop will be held at the SC04 conference.
