英文摘要
AbstractLowell 0527208 This project is a continuation of an effort to develop robust, innovative mathematical models of seafloor hydrothermal processes. The Integrated Processes part of the project addresses fundamental aspects of heat transfer across the basal boundary layer, dyke propagation and its coupling to hydrothermal circulation, and the development of an integrated model of magma-hydrothermal processes that includes convection in an open-system magma lens. The Temporal Variability part addresses the evolution of permeability in layered medium and the relationship between focused and diffuse flow, the hydrothermal system response to earthquakes, and microbial-hydrothermal interactions.
