Cold Atoms, Cold Molecules, and Spectroscopy

This proposal for theoretical and computational work has two components. The goal ofthe first part is to extend a recent treatment of Bose-Einstein condensates in double-wellpotentials by Ananikian and the PI to take into account interactions with thermal atoms.The second part of this proposal is intended to assist experimental efforts to produceultracold molecules from cold atoms. One difficulty is that the spectroscopy of thesesystems is complex and unknown. Multichannel calculations are required to obtain theimportant data which is crucially important to the experiments.
