EAR-0723437AllisonThis award will support a two-day workshop entitled "The Role of State Geological Surveys and the US Geological Survey in a Geological Information System for the Nation". The primarly goal of the workshop is to determine if and how the extensive data assets of the geological surveys can be made accessible online in a distributed national network to provide greater and easier access to the nation's earth science information resources. Representatives from the USGS and key state geological survey leaders will participate in this workshop to be held at the Denver Federal Center and co-funded by the U.S. Geological Survey.
