The aim of the project is to investigate the structure and volcanic setting of the Pleistocene volcanic complex Mytina Maar and the cinder cone Zelezna hurka/Eisenbühl. The principal result will be a palaeo volcanic scenario (geological model, tectonic control, distribution of eruptiva) of the region.The outcome will be compared with investigations in the mofette field of Milhostov- Hartousov, where the exhalation of mantle-derived CO2-enriched fluids is an expression of presently ongoing magmatic and degassing processes in the intra-continental lithosphere of the western Eger rift region, with regard to potential future eruptions.To compare both regions the following methods will be interpreted: geoelectrics, geomagnetics, seismics, gravity and CO2-soil gas measurements, petrographic-geochemical and remote sensing data.The expected results will be serve as for better understanding of geologic, volcanologic and tectonic settings as well as for to create maps of future volcanic risk assessment in sub-regions of the western Eger Rift, Central Europe.
