In this consortium, nine research groups combine their forces to elucidate the structure and function of the peroxisomal translocon. This requires an elaborate coordination and administration. Therefore, the speaker of the research unit requires support by a scientific coordinator. The tasks of the coordinating scientists of the research group will be to implement the framework for the free and timely exchange of ideas, methods, and results within the consortium as well as to provide an interface to the scientific community and the interested public. She/he will organize five internal meetings as central element of internal communication as well as one open international meeting. In addition, the scientific coordinator will be in charge of the administration of funds as well as for the public relations of the of the research unit.
