Taxonomic revision of the mentioned groups and description of numerous new species, redecription of the already described species, and preparation of keys to the species.Examination of the phylogenetic relations of the genera or species-groups within genera, of their origin, the history of their distribution, and their relations to extra-Australian genera and species.Important questions are:Clivinini: Change of hygrophílous habits to the life on the ground in tropical and subtropical open forests and savannahs away from water. Reasons for the evolution of so many hygrophilous species in a prevailing dry continent.Sarothrocrepis: Question of the original habits: under bark of eucalypts in open forest, woodland, and savannah, or on bark or in moss on the trunks of rainforest trees.Phorticosomus: Question of the group membership of the genus. Question of the origin: in tropical, seasonal wet savannahs, or in semiarid/arid steppe or semidesert.
