The aim of this project is to achieve control over the monomer sequence within synthetic macromolecules with dispersity one up to high molecular weights. After having established suitable synthetic procedures for sequence-defined macromolecules within the first funding period, this project now concentrates on a fundamental understanding of structure-property relationships within sequence-defined macromolecules, the establishment of sequence-defined macromolecules bearing metal centres as well as the advancement of possible applications in data storage and cryptography.
