本研究では当初，論文や特許を利用した社会ネットワーク上のポジションとイノベーション・パフォーマンスとの相互作用の検討を予定していた．つまり社会ネットワーク上のポジションが発明者のイノベーション・パフォーマンスに影響を及ぼし，その発明者のイノベーション・パフォーマンスに基づいて社会ネットワーク上のポジションが変化するという関係を追究することを予定していた．しかしながら研究を進めるにつれて，その前提となる社会ネットワーク上のポジションとイノベーションの関係についてより詳細に検討する必要があることが明らかとなったため，以下の2点について研究を進めることとした．第1に社会ネットワーク上の中心性の高いポジションとイノベーション・パフォーマンスの関係について詳細に探索を行った．この結果，直接的に接触できる発明者の数と，間接的に接触できる発明者の数それぞれの影響の大きさは追究するイノベーションのタイプ(企業独自性・ディスラプティブネス)によって異なる可能性が示された．この分析結果は一橋大学の博士論文として認められており，今後論文という形で投稿して公開をする予定である．第2に生み出された知識のディスラプティブネス(既存の知識トラジェクトリからの逸脱度)に対する認識の変化の実証分析を行った．発明者の生み出した知識がディスラプティブであるか否かは，その知識を利用する他の発明者によって判断される．それゆえ生み出された当初は逸脱的でないとみなされていたにもかかわらず，その後逸脱的だと再認識されるような特許も存在する可能性がある．本研究ではこのような特許の存在を引用ネットワークを利用して示すとともに特定をした．この内容は2023年6月に行われる組織学会に既に採択されており，発表を行う予定である．
