今年度は、昨年度に対象産業の再検討を行なって選定した石油・ガソリンスタンド産業のデータを取得し、分析を進めた。まず、ガソリンスタンドの立地・属性と店舗単位の価格データを取得し、さらに製油所の立地データも取得した。誘導型モデルから推定を開始し、合併が価格を通じて消費者に与える影響を差の差の分析（DID分析）で推定した。近年、DID分析において、効果が主体によって異質な場合や、複数のトリートメントがある場合に生じるバイアスが明らかになり、そのバイアスに対して頑健な手法が開発されている。そのため、de Chaisemartin and D'Haultfoeuille (2022)の推定方法を用いるなど、新たな手法の適用も行なった。得られた結果は発表資料としてまとめ、11月に大阪大学で行われたJapane Empirical Industrial Oraganization Workshopや、3月に関西大学・四国大学で行われた研究会で、合計3回の発表を行った。本科研費による研究期間が終了した後も、これまでの分析結果を踏まえ分析を発展させていく。特に、先行研究と比較し、本研究で対象とした石油・ガソリンスタンド産業の特徴は、上流の石油精製と下流のガソリン小売という垂直的な関係がある点である。上流の能力削減が、下流のガソリンスタンド間の競争にも影響を与えるという複雑な構造にある。上流の能力削減が、下流のガソリン小売に与える影響を経済理論からモデル化し、反実仮想シミュレーションを実施する予定である。
