项目摘要

本研究は、近代以降日本の南米移住を軸に、移民の出身地に基づく属性や関係性が移住先コミュニティ並びに出身地域のあり方にいかなる影響を及ぼしてきたか、歴史学的な考察から明らかにするものである。2021年度は、在○県人会等に代表される同郷者集団の成立過程や変遷について検討するとともに、高知県をはじめとする特定の県や地域出身の移民を対象に、それらが日本側の地域でどのように記述、資料として残されてきたか、地域資料の調査や聞き取り調査を行ってきた。また、アジア・太平洋戦争後の日本における地方自治体と移住先とのつながりについて、戦後移住政策にも触れながら検討を行った。とくに戦前のブラジル移民と高知県出身者に関連する資料調査では、高知市を拠点に高知市立自由民権記念館所蔵の移民関係資料整理・目録作成および翻刻作業を行った他、新資料の発掘やオーラル・ヒストリー等の蒐集の必要性から、県内の図書館、公文書館等で資料調査、吾川郡いの町ならびに仁淀川町で聞き取り調査をそれぞれ実施した。資料調査の結果からは、高知県における移民関係資料の所在が徐々に明らかとなった一方で、戦後移住に関係した史料蒐集の必要性を感じた。このような事情から行った高知県国際交流課書庫資料調査では、昭和40年代以降の南米訪問団に関係する資料や南米移住家族会関係資料といった貴重な行政文書を確認できた。調査研究成果の一部は、日本移民学会第6回冬季研究大会および第107回高知近代史研究会にて報告を行った。
