「入試制度変更がもたらす学生の出願行動及び教育投資の変化とそのメカニズムの解明」というテーマについて研究を行なった。本年度の研究実施計画では、モデルの理論的な分析、分析作業、執筆作業を行うことを計画していたが、実証的な分析作業及び執筆作業を中心に研究を行なった。理論モデルについては、高校入試に関する学生の行動モデルを構築した。実証分析を優先したため、モデルの理論的な分析には深く立ち入っておらず、またモデル自体も重要な要素のみを考慮した最低限のモデルとなっている。しかしながら、現実の行動を理解する出発点としては十分な要素を含んでおり、実証分析を経てモデルを再構築するための良い土台であると考えている。構築した動学的離散選択モデルを、データを用いて推定する分析も行なった。得られた推定値は実際のデータとの当てはまりが非常に良く、構築したモデルや推定手法の正当性が見られた。現在の推定手法でも誤りではない一方、推定に時間がかかると言う問題点は残された。これについては近年計算負荷を軽減するような手法が提案されているため、これを取り入れることを今後行っていく予定である。得られた推定結果をもとに、反実仮想的な入試制度のもとで生徒がどのように行動を変えるかについてシミュレーション分析を行なった。入試と出願の順番を入れ替えるなど、いくつかの変更を行なった結果、生徒の出願先に変更が生じた一方で、異なる入試制度の下でも勉強時間には変化がないことがわかった。ここから、生徒は入試制度変更には出願先の変更で対応する可能性が示唆された。今後は入試制度で使用されるアルゴリズムを他のものに変えるといったより大きな変更が生じた場合に結果がどう変わるかについて分析をしたいと考えている。
