本研究の目的は、ロシア人と日本人のロシア語教育研究者が協力して、現代ロシア語を学ぶ日本人学習者に見られる言語的誤りを体系的に検討・考察し、その上で日本人による典型的な誤りを矯正するための教材を開発することである。初年度は、国内外の先行研究を整理するとともに、考察対象となる文法項目に関するデータとして、筑波大学ロシア語初学者クラス（主に1年次）での小テストや学期末テストの記録、授業参観時の録画等を収集・蓄積し、言語資料として整理・分析を行った。その結果、多種多様な、①文字レベルの書記法上の誤り、②語レベルの正綴法・正書上法の誤り、③語彙・文法上の誤り（a.動詞類の活用形及び名詞類の格変化形の誤り、b.語結合関係の統語法上の誤り）の存在が確認された。①はロシア語と日本語の音韻体系の相違等、②は主に正書法の規則、無アクセント母音字の発音規則、子音の同化の発音規則の理解度と習得度等、③は語形変化及び語結合関係の習得度等に大きく起因しているものと推察される。日本語とロシア語の言語干渉は、①と③のタイプにおいて特に顕著に見られる。膠着語である日本語と屈折語であるロシア語の言語機能・構造上の隔たりは大きく、日本語にはない言語的特徴を数多く持つロシア語は、本質的に日本人学習者にとって言語的誤りを誘発しやすい言語だと言える。ロシア語入門・初級の履修者の言語的誤りは、それを避けるために工夫を凝らし、適切に作成した練習問題を学習者に継続的に解かせることで縮減できることが明らかになった。２年目は、ロシア語入門・初級の履修者の言語的誤りを矯正するための練習問題づくりに取りかかった。さらに、スライド、映像、絵、写真など、ロシアの言語外現実を伝えるビジュアルな教育材づくりを目指して、2018年12月に刊行された『リズム－外国語としてのロシア語入門』の改訂版づくりにも取り組んだ。
