本研究は留学に向ける「失敗不安」の構造の解明と、効果的な留学体験を実現させる方策の構築を目的とし、海外での積極的な学修活動に影響を及ぼす非言語コミュニケーションにおける悩みを、心理学と異文化教育研究の両面から包括的に解析して解決策を求める。本研究の目的が達成されれば、留学前に「失敗への不安をコントロールする力」を修得させることができ、留学先でより実りの多い経験をさせることができる。その上、今日のように物理的な人間の移動が制限される状況では、IT技術を用いたCOILなどのバーチャル留学においても、本研究の成果物である教材を用いることで心理的なシミュレーションを体験させることが可能になる。また、本研究は「失敗への不安」の解明と克服から、最終的には「心理的な柔軟さ」の育成を模索するものであるため、自己と他者に対する柔軟な価値観の育成や、ポピュリズムに迎合しにくい意識の育成にも発展する可能性を有するものである●R4年度は約80名の学生の同意を集め、個人情報の保護といった倫理要項の説明を行い、調査研究を行った。BEVI検定とスチューデントEQ(SEQ)検診で学生の意識を調査し、失敗とその克復についてのエピソードの提供もGoogleフォームで募った。実際に各調査に回答を寄せた学生は30と数名だった。●各解答のIDを統一し、BEVIの36項目の数値と、SEQの26項目の数値で相関分析を行った。●その結果、抑鬱性（過去の結果やできごとにとらわれずこれから起こることに新たな視点で取り組む傾向）が、最もほかの多くの、行動決定に関連する心的因子と高い相関を示した。この抑鬱性の項目はSEQから抽出されたもので、同じSEQ内では他の5項目と、BEVIでは12項目と相関(P<0.01)を示した。●分析結果の詳細は追って論文の形で発表する。
