2022年度は、終息の気配は見え始めたものの前年度に同じく新型コロナ感染症の流行と、現地受け入れ機関による調査の自粛の要請と、目下見通しのつきにくいウクライナ戦争による、外務省の渡航自粛の要請のため、当初計画していたロシア或いは中国での現地調査、資料の収集を行ない得なかった。しかし、国内では、戦前、東北ユーラシアで、遼・金代の研究に大きな足跡を残した島田正郎、江上波夫両氏招来の遺物の調査を行った。遺物は、東京国立博物館・横浜ユーラシア文化館、明治大学博物館等に収蔵されているが、とりわけ明治大学博物館に所蔵の遺物は、現在に至るまで公開発表はもちろん、調査もなされていない遺物である。2022年度はそれら遼中京大定府故城出土の瓦片、金上京会寧府故城出土の琉璃瓦、更に石弾の調査を二回に渉って行った。その調査成果は今後発表する予定である。また、横浜ユーラシア文化館では所蔵・一部展示されている金代銅鏡の調査を行った。その他、徳島県徳島市郊外に所在する鳥居龍蔵記念館を訪れ、遼金代の考古資料についての戦前の情報を収集した。同時に中国文はもとより、ロシア科学アカデミー極東諸民族歴史・民族・言語研究所機関誌をはじめとするロシア側の最新の論文17篇の翻訳を進め、仏教寺院・仏塔・城郭に関する資料の収集に努めた。
