４月：　本研究に最も適しているとみられる長野市小田切地区とその中の字（これまでの調査の経験から最大20戸程度と想定）の選定を行い、上宮野尾区とすることを決定し、字の代表者への接触を開始した。５～６月：　当該地区と部落の代表者たちに正式に調査への協力を依頼した。７～８月：　当該の部落の各戸に挨拶と研究の趣旨説明、協力のお願いに伺った。７～９月：　本研究に最も適しているとみられる八丈町末吉地区とその中の字（これまでの調査の経験から最大20戸程度と想定）の選定を行い、地区と字の代表者への接触を開始した。10～12月：　長野市小田切地区の当該の字での民俗調査と世帯調査（想定を超える全戸の8割程度を完了）、介護慣行や介護上の困難をめぐるインタビュー調査に取り組んだ。１～２月：　八丈町末吉地区の調査対象となる字に関する資料収集、並びに、自治会役員などとの打ち合わせを行った。３月：　長野市小田切地区の関係者に、一年間の調査成果の概要を報告すると共に、次年度の調査の有効な取り組みに向けて意見交換を行った。また、研究者仲間にも同様の報告を行い、今後の研究の進め方をめぐって協議した。特に、長野市小田切地区上宮野尾区での調査において、誰を親族とみているかなど、親族に関する知見が多々集積され、加えて、介護慣行についての調査も進んだことから、どのような親族が介護に関わってきたか、理由を含めて概要が見えてきた。介護キンドレッドを明らかにする目標に向けて前進していることを実感している。
