Role of mitochondrial quality control in hepatic encephalopathy (B09)

肝性脑病(HE)是一种由各种形式的肝功能障碍引起的神经精神综合征。由此导致的高氨血症导致星形胶质细胞自噬/有丝分裂吞噬和快速代谢重编程的调节。在此背景下，我们的目标是更好地了解线粒体质量控制的机制，重点是有丝分裂和自噬，以及能量代谢在HE发病机制中的作用。为此，我们将使用合适的体外、有机和体内模型。因此，我们希望找到治疗HE的新策略。

Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a neuropsychatric syndrome caused by various forms of liver dysfunction. Resulting hyperammonemia leads to modulation of autophagy/ mitophagy and rapid metabolic reprogramming in astrocytes. In this context, we aim to better understand the mechanistic role of mitochondrial quality control, focusing on mitophagy and autophagy, and of energy metabolism for the pathogenesis of HE. For this we will use suitable in vitro-, organoid-, and in vivo-models. Thereby, we hope to find novel strategies for HE treatment.
