金融市場で取引を行う市場参加者の一部が自分で情報投資を行うという想定の下で、バーゼル規制に従う銀行と従う義務のないシャドウ・バンクを市場で金融商品を供給する経済主体として新たに加えた上で理論的なモデルを構築した。そのうえで、社会的に最適なレベルと比較して各種のバーゼル規制で考慮されているようなプルーデンス政策やシャドウ・バンクに関する規制政策が金融市場で過剰もしくは過少な情報投資のどちらをもたらすのか、また、そのことは金融危機の可能性を高めるのかということを、まず理論的なパラメーターを特定化せず一般的な形式で分析した。ここでバーゼル規制で考慮されているようなプルーデンス政策というのは、バーゼルIII合意で導入された金融機関に対する資本規制及び流動性の規制やリスク・リテンション・ルールをさす。また、シャドウ・バンクに対応する規制政策というのは、リスク・リテンション・ルール及びシャドウ・バンクへの流動性規制である。さらに、ピグー的な情報技術投資に対する直接的な課税および補助金政策の効果も前年度同様に研究した。この定性的な分析で、ある種の条件の下では、バーゼルIII合意で導入された金融機関に対する資本規制及び流動性の規制やピグー的な情報技術投資に対する直接的な課税および補助金政策の効果を明らかにするとともに、シャドウ・バンクに対するリスク・リテンション・ルール及び流動性規制の項かも明らかにすることができた。結局、バーゼルIIIが対象とする金融機関においてもシャドウ・バンクに対しても。情報投資と金融危機に関する社会的厚生の面からは、資本規制の強化とリスク・リテンション・ルールは流動性規制と反対の効果を持つということが分かった。また、パラメーターの値を現実的に近いような値で数値化して数値計算を行ったところ、すべての政策で理論的予想に近い結果を導出することができた。
