项目摘要

2022年度は、当初の予定では、近代ヨーロッパにおける人文・社会科学の諸動向へのC.ガルヴェの具体的関与を掘り下げることを課題としていた。コロナ禍の影響を受け、資料閲覧・収集のためのヨーロッパ渡航が叶わなかったため、本研究課題において重要な位置を占める、道徳哲学に関するガルヴェの最晩年の著作『道徳哲学の一般的諸原理に関する考察』（1798年）の分析を前倒しした。これによって、彼の諸著作をつらぬく哲学的・理論的基盤が明らかになると同時に、彼が通俗哲学に託した「自分で考えること」の啓蒙的意義も浮上した。『考察』が射程に収める範囲は、同時代人のみならずプラトンやアリストテレスといった古代哲学者にまで及んで広大であり、これに対応するべく分析対象を広げたことに加え、『考察』に関する書評など同時代人らの評価にも目配りしたため、それらの分析に当初見込んだよりも大きな時間を割くこととなった。感覚・知性・理性の相互連関を重視するガルヴェの道徳哲学における人間像は、秩序の担い手として社会的文脈の中にも置かれ、さらには神との関係において「人間の使命」という形でその意義が問い直されるにいたる。以上の研究成果は学術論文として公表した。なお、人文社会科学の学際的連関の実態追究に関し、本年度の研究を通じて新たな課題も見えてきている。18世紀の学際的交流の実態に即して当時の思想空間を再構成していく作業は、社会思想史学会大会におけるドイツ・ロマン主義に関するセッション（世話人を務めた）の議論などからも刺激を受けながら進められている。
