项目摘要

当該年度は，知的財産（知財）活動の重要性を認識し，積極的に知財を活用し，新技術・新製品の開発，新市場の開拓を行う知財経営に取り組む中小企業等に焦点を当て，研究を進めてきた。この知財経営積極的型と呼ぶべき中小企業等をどのような基準で判断するのかに関する判断基準が必要となる。そこで当該年度の前半は，この判断基準を示すことを目的とした。後半はこれらの中小企業等が知財のひとつである特許から自社の技術的強みの抽出と新規事業展開の方向性を探索する手法の検討を行った。そして当該年度で示した知財積極的型の判断基準に基づき，ゴム材料メーカーである中小企業等AR社を選定し，このAR社の医療機器関連分野の参入をケースに本研究が提案する特許情報を起点に新規事業展開の方向性を探索するツールの検証を行った。具体的な研究内容については下記のとおりである。知財経営積極的型の中小企業等を判断する基準は，次の3点から検討を行った。第1は「体力」である。技術開発等の実施状況，特許出願等の状況分析において，企業規模が一定の影響を与えているという現状を加味し，体力において重視する指標は，従業員数，資本金といった企業規模に関するものとした。第2は「やる気」である。本項目は，新規事業の展開に関する姿勢を検討するものであり，重視する指標は，①セミナーへの参加履歴，②研究会等への入会状況，③産学官連携の実績，④競争的資金の申請・獲得状況とした。第3は「知力」である。本項目は技術・製品開発力を検討するものであり，重視する指標は，特許出願状況とした。次に対象とする中小企業等の特許情報と関連する特許情報を活用した新規事業展開領域の探索に関する手順を検討し，AR社に適用した。その結果，AR社が技術的強みを活かした新規事業展開の可能性のある潜在的市場を見出すことができ，当該年度において本手法の可能性を提示することができた。
