本研究プロジェクトは、企業の製品ポートフォリオを動態的な視点から理論的かつ実証的に分析し、採用されている製品ポートフォリオ変更戦略のパターンを特定し、それらのパターンの促進／阻害要因と企業の成果に与える影響を探究するという目的を有するプロジェクトである。研究プロジェクトの2年目に該当する本年度は、以下の3つの成果が得られた。第1に、本研究プロジェクトの実証分析のアプローチが確定され、同様のアプローチを用いた先行研究のレビューを通じて、分析のプロトコルや留意点が整理された。具体的には、産業専門誌やプレスリリースに対する構造的内容分析と統計解析を組み合わせたアプローチによって、製品ポートフォリオ変更戦略のパターンの分析が行われる予定である。第2に、企業の事例分析が行われ、現在の変動的な市場に対応するための製品ポートフォリオ変更の基盤となる戦略について示唆を得た。現在は、事例分析で得られた知見と1年目に整理した関連理論の知見を組み合わせて、製品ポートフォリオ変更戦略のパターンを類型化する作業に取り組んでおり、3年目も同作業を継続する予定である。第3に、日本の清涼飲料水産業の4年間の製品・ブランドレベルの売上データを入手し、昨年度整備したデータセットを大幅に拡張することができた。現在は、追加した売上データに対応した行動データの構造的内容分析に取り組んでおり、3年目も同作業を継続して進める予定である。
