本研究は、感染症を「人を越え、地域を越え、国を越えて拡がる」社会的危機と捉え、その感染症危機管理のためのソシアルネットワークを構築し、取り組むことが、地域の感染症対策の強化にどのように影響を与えるのかを明らかにすることを目的としている。宮城県をフィールドとして、発生する感染症事例の実地疫学調査・分子疫学調査を実施することにより、感染源・感染経路を特定し、新たな集団発生を防止する体制を強化し、さらに、感染症疫学の教育プログラムに基づく教育システムを構築し、感染症対応に強い組織作りを目指す。今年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症に対して一般市民の理解、行動を知るため、仙台市民約500人へのアンケート調査を半年に一度継続して行った。実施時期は、2022年8月、2023年2月、オンラインによる質問調査を実施した。2022年後半からはオミクロンが主流となり、第7波、第8波を経験することになったが、2022年2月に行った調査結果と比較し、自分は感染しない、感染しても重症化しない、感染しても後遺症は残らないと考える人の割合はほぼ同様であった。その一方で、一人一人が感染予防をすることは決して無駄ではないと思おうと回答した人は低下していた。これらのことから、感染者数が増加するにつれてワクチンを含む感染対策に対しての警戒心が薄れていることが懸念された。感染症対策について継続して正しい情報をわかりやすい方法で市民に伝えていくことが重要であるが、そのためには、医療関係者、保健行政関係者が常に最新の正しい情報にアクセスできることが強く求められる。そのため、次年度に向けて、広く情報提供をおこなうプラットフォームとすることを目的として、複数の大学研究者とともに、「感染症疫学情報アップデート」サイトを作成中である。完成後は、オープンアクセスとする予定である。
