大阪府内の保育者約80名を対象に、大阪府の地震や園所における地震防災、幼児期における防災教育に関する研修会を実施した結果、実施後の保育者のアンケート調査には、南海トラフ地震や大阪府の断層による地震の想定について再認識したことや、地域連携の大切さ、教材を活用した地震防災教育、震災後の子ども・保護者・保育者の心のケア等について参考になったという意見が多く散見された。また、今後の各園の課題として、園に応じた地震防災対策の構築や保護者への対応の見直し、カルタや絵本等の地震防災に関する教材を活用した保育実践、近隣の小中学校、あるいは、企業と連携した避難訓練等が挙げられた。さらに、地域行政・専門機関との連携や地震防災に関する研修会強化の要望が多くあり、課題となった。また、和歌山市内の幼稚園において地震への関心を高め、適切な避難行動が取れることを目的とした保育実践を消防署と連携して実施した。地震体験車を活用した疑似体験では、幼児は発達段階を考慮しトラウマにならないよう震度4の揺れを親子で体験し、その後保護者のみで震度6強の揺れを体験した。そして、遊戯室で保育室、園庭、地域で地震が発生した際の対応に関する幼児向けのDVDを視聴した。保育実践後に保護者へアンケート調査を行った結果、地震体験車の体験によって改めて地震の恐ろしさや地震への備えの大切さを実感したこと、DVDで学んだ内容等の記述があり、教育効果が伺えた。課題は、DVDの内容が3歳児には分かりにくかったことであり、発達段階に応じたDVDの作成が必要であることが明らかになった。これらの実践から、保育者への研修や保育施設での防災教育の必要性が伺えたことや、2021年度の調査から、保育者が幼児期の防災教育において視覚教材の開発を望んでいたことから、現在地震防災の人形劇等視覚教材の制作に取り組んでいる。
