项目摘要

ヒトは，複数の要素で構成される刺激群の平均量やバラツキ感を表象し，表象した要約統計量を日常場面でのさまざまな課題に利用している．先行研究では，このような認知過程を要約統計量表象（summary statistics representation, SSR，また，ensemble perception）と称し，その統合的な処理メカニズムの解明が試みられている．本研究では，1）要約統計量推定における精度の違いやバイアス等の個人差を生じさせる要因は何か，2）どのような教示や練習方法によって，推定精度の向上やバイアスの低減を実現できるか，3）SSR機能の熟達化は，適応的な判断や意思決定にどのように寄与するのか，の３つの問いについて，実験室での心理物理実験を実施して検討している．平均量推定対象の刺激は，視覚処理の処理レベルに着目し，円の面積と，顔表情の二種類とする．2022年度は，平均面積推定過程の個人差要因を特定することを目的として，平均面積推定課題と，認知的個人差が確認される３つの認知課題（数知覚課題，視覚探索課題，視空間作業記憶課）並びに平均値推定課題と関連することが予測される全体面積推定課題の５課題を被験者内要因にて実施し，各課題間の関連性を検討した．結果から，１）平均値推定課題と他の認知課題の成績に顕著な関連性はみられないこと，２）視空間作動課題と数識別精度・視覚的探索課題の成績とに軽い相関があることが示された．これらの結果から，平均値の推定には，他の認知能力とは独立した特徴的なメカニズムが関与している可能性が示唆された
