今回の研究テーマでは、片まひ者の防火戸通行時の特性について、麻痺の左右差と防火戸の開く方向（右開き、左開き）、防火戸の開け方（押し開け、引き開け）、取手の種類、の関係を明らかにすることを目的としており、当該年度は必要な実験を行い分析を進めた。その結果、現時点で次のような分析結果が得られた。（１）戸を引き開けて通行する場合において、麻痺側、蝶番側、取っ手の種類（ケースハンドル、縦スリット、トランクハンドル、縦手すり）の組み合わせで、防火戸通行の時の所要時間の差がある傾向がみられた。具体的には、戸を引き開ける際の「戸が動き始める～被験者の胴体が防火戸の戸枠を通り過ぎた瞬間」（戸を開けて歩行する行為のため、最も左右麻痺差や蝶番の左右差が出やすいと推測される）をみると、右蝶番のほうが所要時間が短くなる麻痺側と、左蝶番のほうが所要時間が短くなる麻痺側が、取手の種類が逆になるという傾向が推測される結果となった。今後、個人差の影響も含めて精査を進める必要があるが、取手の掴み方と関節の回転方向の関係などが影響している可能性がある。（２）杖使用者の場合、戸を開ける直前で杖を麻痺側に持ち替える動作、戸通過後に元の手に持ち替える動作が見られた。その際、歩行速度は遅くなるか一旦歩行を止めることになるため、滞留無く多数の人の避難歩行が続く一般的な避難行動において、片麻痺者が後ろからの避難者と衝突してしまう可能性も見出され、避難時の課題が得られた。
