Imprinting a remanent polarization is the essential process step for the activation of the electromechanical coupling in functional compounds and defines the topic of the research activities of subproject C03. Based on material characterization experiments and poling simulations the poling process is optimized for mass production, methods for the poling of unstructured composites are developed and failure mechanisms as well as critical areas are identified.
