Tracing the Assembly of the Perseus Cluster of Galaxies(Observing Campaign at the WIYN Telescope)

We intend to cover a large part of the Perseus galaxy cluster with deep optical multi-band imaging at the WIYN telescope. The goals of this project are:1) Measuring structure and colours (stellar populations) of dwarf galaxies;2) Identifying signs of interactions within local associations of galaxies that are already part of the cluster;3) Comparing the Perseus cluster's galaxy population with that of the less massive, but similarly concentrated Fornax cluster, which is currently being targeted with comparably deep imaging.
