本研究は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行に伴い国内の大学研究機関において立ち上がった臨時PCR検査体制を、システムズエンジニアリングの手法を用いて可視化し、多施設間の比較検証を行い、異なる基礎的背景に応じた可塑的な臨時検査体制の最適モデルの提唱を行い、現場へ還元・応用することを目的として開始した。2022年度は、慶應義塾大学における病院と医学部のPCR検査体制の構築過程や検査数の推移等について解析と論文化を進めた（2023年度中に投稿予定）。また、無症状者を対象としたプール法を用いたスクリーニング目的のPCR検査の社会実装の検証の解析結果を論文発表した(Oba et al, PLoS ONE 17(5):e0263700)。研究分担者の松尾と西原が運営に関わっていた衛生検査所におけるPCR検査体制は、人間ドック受診予定者や歯科口腔外科患者、無症状の教職員などが対象であったが、一時期大学の運動部などへも拡大した。しかし、その後検査の必要性がなくなったことから、2022年7月末で実質解消された。また、慶應義塾大学以外の大学研究機関に幅広くパンデミック時の臨時検査体制についてアンケート調査を実施し、異なるモデルがそれぞれの場所で作られていたことを見出した。複数の大学機関の検査体制に関する解析結果は、2023年度に論文化を進めていく予定である。他にも、2022年秋から2023年3月にかけて、イギリスに本拠地のあるImpactという研究出版物に本研究の紹介記事を作成した。この記事は、2023年度に出版される予定である。
