本研究の目的は、大学基礎教育のうちから看護大学生にクリティカルケアの専門的な教育を行い、学生のニーズ、臨床で期待される能力を考慮したクリティカルケア看護師の能力の獲得を促進するための基盤をつくるための「大学基礎教育におけるクリティカルケア看護師基盤形成支援プログラム開発」を行い、教育を開始することである。研究の1段階として、学生と現場のニーズ、クリティカルケア看護師の必要要素からプログラムを検討する計画となっている。そして第2段階の教育プログラムの実施、第3段階のフォローアップ・評価、プログラムの見直しへと進めていく。令和3年度（2021年度）は、第１段階のプログラム作成を予定していた。教育プログラム作成にあたり必要な項目の検討として、大学で求められている到達目標と技術項目、各病院で実施されている新人教育の内容（中央研修とクリティカル領域での研修）を整理し、その間の要素としては何が必要か検討した。そのためには先行研究で実施したクリティカルケア領域における新人看護師の1年目の教育の実態や意識、管理者から求められる新人看護師の資質を合わせて検討した。網羅的教育ではなく、重要かつ基盤となる教育内容の枠組みの検討が必要であることを確認した。そして技術に傾倒するのではなく、基盤となる考え方や応用力の育成も必要であることがわかった。また、具体的プログラム開発とともに、評価項目の検討も必要であることを検討した。
