わが国では、新型コロナウイルス感染症対応による外出自粛等に伴い、子どもや家庭の生活環境が変化する中で虐待のリスクの高まりが懸念されている。特に、厚生労働省の「子ども虐待による死亡事例等の検証結果等について（第16次報告）」によれば、心中以外の虐待死事例の年齢別内訳は、死亡した子どもの年齢は0歳児が40.7％、主たる加害者は実母が46.3％で多かった。生後間もない命が奪われる現状から、乳児の母親を対象とした児童虐待の予防支援が重要である。そこで本研究では、乳児をもつ母親のマルトリートメント傾向（不適切な養育態度）と自己肯定感との関連を調査により明らかにする。その結果を生かし、乳児をもつ母親の子育て支援プログラム（児童虐待予防プログラム）を構築することとした。これまでに関係を築いてきた市町村や本学附属認定こども園の理解と協力を得て、当該年度に調査を開始した。当初予定よりは調査開始が遅れ、調査票の回収には時間を要しているが、次年度も引き続き、調査を行う。なお、当該年度に行った調査により、自己肯定感やマルトリートメント（不適切な養育態度）との関連を明らかにするうえで研究対象者の属性を少し詳しく調査し分析を深める必要があることがわかった。新年度は、当該年度の分析結果と課題をふまえ、属性の部分を微調整した調査票で調査を実施することにした。近年では、少子化や核家族化に加え、新型コロナウイルスの影響により人との関係が希薄になり、孤独な中で育児に励む母親が少なくないと考える。こうした環境は、母親の育児不安を強め、不適切な養育態度を生みやすい。調査結果から、深刻な児童虐待問題を解決するための示唆を得る。児童虐待プログラムを開発し、児童虐待を予防できれば、子どもの命や子どもの健やかな発達、子どもの権利を守ることにつながる。母親が育児に前向きになれれば、少子化の歯止めにも寄与できると考える。
