２施設と子育て相談サービス事業会社によるインターネット募集によって研究参加者を募集した。その募集は、研究参加者の抽出条件に合致した者に対して研究依頼を文書と口頭で行い、夫婦それぞれに署名のある研究参加同意書をもって研究参加者とした。参加同意を確認した後に、研究参加者夫婦それぞれに、自記式質問紙とインタビューによる調査を行った。研究参加に同意した夫婦26組52名のうち、妊娠中に切迫早産で入院したり、調査前の出産、産後連絡ない参加者を除き、最終的に研究参加者は22組44名であった。妊娠後期と出産後2-3カ月時点に縦断的に質問紙調査とインタビュー調査を行っている。質問紙調査は、父親の子育て関与に対して母親が行う促進行動と抑制行動の働きかけ（夫婦ペアレンティング調整尺度）を夫婦両方で測定している。産後２～３カ月まで縦断して調査しているため、令和５年５月までデータ収集予定である。
