フレイルは、高齢者が要介護等に移行する主な要因であり、身体的領域だけでなく心理的領域、社会的領域など多面的な構成要素として認識されている。これらの側面は相互作用し健康に悪影響を及ぼす可能性がある。そのためにも身体的、認知的、心理的，社会的な側面からの評価および介入の重要性が示唆されている。また高齢者が生きがいを持って生活し、社会参加することは重要であり、積極的に社会的交流や社会参加、満足感のある有意義な活動に従事することは、心身に良い影響を与える可能性があり、フレイルの有病率を抑制できる可能性がある。そこで本研究の目的は、地域在住高齢者の社会的フレイルの有病率を明らかにし、複合プログラムによる介入が社会的フレイルの予防や改善に効果があるか否かを明らかにすることである。しかし、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響により介入着手時期が大幅に遅れてしまったが、2022年より地域在住高齢者を対象とした健康教室を開催に着手している。初回に歩行や握力、社会的フレイルの判定、認知機能、高次生活機能等を含む身体機能、心理機能に関する評価を多面的に実施した。【研究1】として地域在住高齢者を対象として初回評価にて社会的フレイルの判定を実施しているため有病率が明らかにされる。【研究2】として社会的フレイルの予防・改善を目的としてランダム化クロスオーバーデザインでの複合プログラムの効果検証として参加者を「運動・コグニサイズグループ」と「園芸・ガーデニンググループ」の2つのグループにランダムに振り分けて介入を継続している段階である。
