本研究では、高齢者の認知予備力を評価することにより、認知機能低下に対する「社会的隔離」の影響を調査し、施設で生活している高齢者の認知機能低下の予防策を解明すると共に、認知予備力の生物学的本態を明らかにすることを目的としている。COVID-19は高齢者では重症化するリスクが高いことから、他人との接触を控える措置が取られ、高齢者を対象とする施設や病院では外出禁止や面会禁止の対応となっている。このような高齢者の保護を目的とした対応は、同時に「社会的隔離」として高齢者の生活にネガティブな影響を及ぼしている可能性がある。現在、本研究の対象者となる被検者に対して、COVID-19への感染対策を行いながら、面会制限・外出制限が行われる最低6か月間前の認知機能の変化と、面会制限・外出制限が行われた時期最低6か月間の認知機能の変化を調査する具体的な準備を進めているが、施設の面会制限による影響が出現している。

COVID-19 is a serious disease, and it is not allowed to go out of the hospital. It is forbidden to go out of the hospital. The purpose of protection for the elderly is to protect the elderly, and at the same time, to isolate the elderly from the elderly. Now, the subjects of this study and the subjects were involved in the study, and the effects of COVID-19 infection control measures, face-to-face restrictions, and out-of-home restrictions on cognitive function were observed for a minimum of 6 months prior to the implementation of the study.
