2022年度は、13C標識アミノ酸酸化法(indicator amino acid oxidation method; IAAO法）を用いて日本人成人女性のたんぱく質代謝要求量を算出する研究を実施する計画であった。IAAO法は、13C標識アミノ酸を経口摂取し、呼気に排出される13CO2量を測定することにより体内でのアミノ酸分解量を推測する方法である。2022年度は、IAAO法を実施するための準備を進めていたが、新型コロナウイルス感染症への感染防止のためIAAO法の実施を断念し、予定通りに研究を進めることができなかった。
