今年度は新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大防止のための制限が緩和されたことから、当初の研究計画モデルであった研究協力者の方への対面でのインタビューと母子手帳からの健診や成長の経過を調査することができた。また、対面での面会が制限されていた時期に打開策として導入したタブレット端末でのインタビューも並行して進めることができた。本来の計画にはなく修正した研究モデルにはなってしまったが、ICTの活用も進めることができた。実際の調査対象となる人数も70名を超え、滞っていた研究協力者の参加ペースアップが得られたと考える。統計学的な有意差を検討するために、最終年度となる来年度において研究協力者をこれまで以上に募るうえでも、ペースアップを得られたことは大きな進歩と考える。本研究の目標の一つとしていた世代間への影響を継続的に検討していくモデルケースの構築という点においては、母子手帳から得られる情報のメリットとデメリットに対するアセスメントや課題も抽出されてきた。今後母子手帳の電子化や記載内容の変更などの可能性はあるものの、出生時の週数、身長、体重、乳幼児健診での身長、体重などの発達発育におけるベースラインのデータについては記載率100%であった。形式や年代が異なっていても、出生時の情報や法定乳幼児健診の結果などは変わることなく記載されており、少なくとも現時点での調査対象として活用できるデータと考えられた。しかしながら1970年代の記載を中心として出生時の記録で「妊娠週数40週0日」「出生体重3kg」「身長50cm」であったり、1歳時に「身長75cm」「体重9kg」であったりなど、その時点における平均的な数値が記載された記録も多く、疫学データとしての信頼性については引き続き検討していく必要性があると考えられた。
