開心術を受ける高齢者患者への術前からのフレイル介入に関する国内外の文献レビューを実施した。また心臓血管外科領域における術前看護外来を開設している専門看護師に取り組みの現状調査をしたが、取り組み状況は１施設のみであった。このため、開心術ケアに従事する看護師を対象にフレイルに対する関心を高める必要性が課題であると考えた。本課題に関連のある日本クリティカルケア看護学会の第19回学術集会において、「開心術を受ける高齢フレイル患者への多職種介入」として交流集会に応募し採択された（7月2日に開催予定）。交流集会は、プレワークショップの位置づけで、①心臓血管外科領域におけるフレイルの現状と認識に関する動向、②開心術を受けるフレイル患者への多職種介入プログラム（Multidisciplinary Intervention program for elderly frail patients undergoing open-heart surgery: MIEFO）、③MIEFOの実装報告、④実装拡大に向けて参加者とのディスカッションの内容で、高齢開心術患者のフレイルについての関心を高め、本プログラムの実装者のリクルートへとつなげていく計画である。
