本研究の目的は、乳幼児の親に関わる支援者にとって活用可能な「親による乳幼児の体罰を防ぐための支援ガイドライン」を開発することである。研究に着手して3年目にあたる令和4年度は、新型コロナウイルス感染症の蔓延状況が落ち着いた5月から6月までの期間に、乳幼児を持つ母親13名を対象とした面接調査を行った。明らかにしたい内容は、①母親が対応に困る子どもの行動とはどのようなもので、それはどのような状況で起きているのか、②子どもの困った行動に母親はどのように対応しているのか、の2点であった。面接調査の結果、乳幼児を持つ母親が困っている子どもの行動として、【何かと目を離せないことをする】、【母親の都合に合わせて動かない】、【母親のエネルギーを消耗させる】、【「よい子」からはずれたことをする】の4つのカテゴリーが抽出された。また、母親がおかれた状況として、子ども中心の生活をしており、時間や手間がかかる子どもの行動に付き合わなければいけないこと、母親自身や世間一般が考える「よい子」像のイメージを常に意識しており、そこから外れた行動に困ったと感じていることが明らかになった。なお、この調査で得られたデータは、コロナ禍の影響を受けている可能性もあることから、慎重な解釈が必要である。現在は、さらに分析を進め、乳幼児を持つ母親が子どもの困った行動にどのように対応しているのか、質的分析を行っているところである。また、これらの研究成果を令和5年度中に学会誌に投稿するため、準備を進めている。
