在宅で看取りを支える家族の介護力量を高めるための包括的エンパワメントプログラムを作成するため、在宅の看取りに関わる専門職に介入について面接し内容分析した。目標数は100名であるが、32名の面接が終了した。現在も面接を継続し分析をしている。これまでの面接では、家族の介護実践能力をエンパワメントする方略としては、患者がご自宅に退院される前に、主に看護師を中心に多職種で連携して様々な媒体を用い患者の疾患や現在の症状と介護方法、急変したときの症状や対応、死に至るまでの身体的な変化やプロセスと介護方法、死亡直前の症状や介護方法等を患者と家族の理解度を確認し主治医との連携を図りながら説明する、日常生活（食事・排泄・清潔・睡眠等）の介護の具体的方法、活用できる用具等、家族自身のケア等家族の意思力を見極め一方からの説明だけでなく共に実施し時に見守る姿勢で関わる、主たる介護者だけでなく他の家族成員とも場を変えて個々に対応する（話す）機会をつくる、家族が疑問に思ったことは職種を超えて連絡を取り合い支援していく、アセスメントしながらどのように役割分担したら良いか相談にのり助言する等が明らかになった。近隣住民と繋がる力をエンパワメントする方略としては、これまでに全く繋がりがなかった場合は難しいが、繋がりがあった場合、介護に参加して頂いた家族もいる事例があったことを話す等が明らかになった。生活調整力をエンパワメントする方略としては、レスパイトができるようにショートステイなどを紹介する、在宅でなくても介護が無理であればいつでも施設や病院を紹介することを保証する等が明らかになった。情報収集力をエンパワメントする方略としては、PCやスマートホンを使用し、すでに情報取集している場合も多く、出来ない場合は専門職が情報を提供している等が明らかになった。
