新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響を受け遅延していた和歌山県立科大学附属病院紀北分院主催の瞑想会が、感染防止に最大限の注意を払いながら、昨年、２セッション実施された。本研究は、その参加者を対象とする観察研究であるため、調査もそれに伴い遅延しており、昨年、調査を実施する運びとなった。本瞑想会は、認知症当事者とその介護家族を対象としているため、参加者は主に高齢者である。したがって、感染防止の観点から、１セッションの人数が認知症当事者と介護家族を合わせて１０人程度と設定されたため、申請時に想定していた対象人数を下回り、２セッション合計１１人の介護家族が参加し、そのうち１人は初日以降不参加となったため、すべて調査ができたのは１０人となった。介護家族の年齢については、４０歳代１人、５０歳代２人、６０歳代１人、７０歳代５人、８０歳代１人であった。本年度の瞑想会開催は未定であるため、調査は昨年度で完了としたうえで、調査終了からこれまでの間、そこで得たデータを統計的に分析したところ、瞑想会に参加することにより対象者の精神的健康、ストレス反応、介護負担感に好ましい変化がみられた。
