本研究は、サービス付き高齢者向け住宅において、電子版「介護職版長期膀胱留置カテーテル閉塞予防・対応プロトコール」を開発し、評価することを目的としている。目的を達成するために3段階の調査を実施予定である。2021年度、第1段階として、石川県内のサービス付き高齢者向け住宅において実態調査を行い、現状を把握した。2022年度の研究活動は、第2段階として、ケアの専門家に調査を実施し、電子版「介護職版長期膀胱留置カテーテル閉塞予防・対応プロトコール」を作成すること、第3段階として作成したアプリを評価することであった。2022年8月より、石川県内の現在、膀胱留置カテーテル留置者を受け入れている実績のあるサービス付き高齢者向け住宅に勤務するケアの専門家（介護に携わる職員）を対象に調査を開始した。調査方法は、対面調査を予定していたが、コロナウイルスの感染を考慮し、スマートフォンビデオ通話もしくはWEB会議システムを利用する対策をして、対面による質問紙調査を実施したが、コロナウイルスの蔓延により、対象者が感染者もしくは濃厚接触者となり勤務先に出ることが出来ず、施設の人員不足から調査に遅延が生じた。2022年12月に9名の調査が完了し、質問紙の結果を基に、サービス付き高齢者住宅におけるケアの専門家の膀胱留置カテーテルに関する観察項目を確認し、電子版「介護職版長期膀胱留置カテーテル閉塞予防・対応プロトコール」に必要な項目を抽出した。2023年1月よりアプリ開発を業者に依頼し、アプリのプロトタイプが3月に完成した。2022年度中に、完成したアプリを再びサービス付き高齢者向け住宅に勤務するケアの専門家（介護に携わる職員）を対象にアプリが活用可能かどうか評価する予定であったが、コロナ禍による調査の遅延により、年度内で実施できなかった。1年期間を延長し、作成したアプリを評価する予定である。
