鳥取県内で映画や映像作品の公共上映に関わる団体・個人へのインタビュー調査をまとめたドキュメンタリー映画『映画愛の現在』第1部を2022年7月18日に「みなとテラス開館記念 映画「カッパの三平」「映画愛の現在」「宝島」上映 佐々木友輔監督トークイベント」（鳥取・境港）で上映した。また『映画愛の現在』三部作を2022年8月19日から22日に「SCOOLシネマテーク Vol.3 佐々木友輔監督特集」を東京のSCOOLで上映した。2022年10月には、『映画愛の現在』三部作をリスボン国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭（Doclisboa）に出品・上映した。鳥取において公共上映が行われる背景にどのような映画の視聴環境があったのかを把握するため、鳥取県内にかつてあった映画館とレンタルビデオ店の調査を継続し、令和4年度は米子市・境港市内の映画館とレンタルビデオ店の外観写真の収集、開館・閉館情報をまとめた年表作成を行った。その研究成果に基づいて、鳥取県内で活動するアーティストClaraとの協働により、過去にあった映画館とレンタルビデオ店をイラストで再現するプロジェクト「見る場所を見る2：アーティストによる鳥取の映画文化リサーチプロジェクト」を実施し、2023年1月30日から2月5日に調査報告展覧会をgallery そら（鳥取市栄町）で開催した。2023年3月には同展覧会の記録集『見る場所を見る2：鳥取・米子・境港市内の映画館＆レンタルビデオショップ史』（Clara、佐々木友輔、杵島和泉 著、鳥取大学地域学部附属芸術文化センター）を刊行した。
