学術的文章作成における大学生の意見構築を研究テーマとして、特に初年次生の論証型レポートにおける引用による外部情報の取り込みに着目した調査を進めています。2022年度は、大学初年次生23名から論証型レポート（約3,000文字）の文章データを収集し、書き手の主張（argument）に対して引用部がどのように位置付けられているかを分析しました。その結果、書き手の主張に対するサポート関係（テキストの繋がり）を明確に示せている例がある一方で、引用部の位置付けが不明瞭、不適切となっている例も多く見られました。本研究では、学生が書いた文章への帰納的コーディングを通して「取り込み」事例に基づく類型分類と「取り込みの失敗」が生じた事例の抽出を行いました。さらに、引用技能(citing competency)に関する国内外の先行研究を踏まえ、なぜ「取り込みの失敗」が生じるのかについて本研究の事例から考察しました。引用による外部情報の取り込みは、大学初年次生がとりわけ困難を覚えやすいものの、授業等における指導が十分に行き届いていないことが知られています。本研究では、そうした初年次生の論証型レポートにおける外部情報の取り込みの実態と課題を具体的な事例とともに描き出すことを目指しています。本研究の「取り込み」（および、「取り込みの失敗」）事例に基づく体系的な整理は、大学初年次ライティング教育における効果的な引用指導に示唆を与えるものと考えます。
