【研究目的】本研究は、戦後の日本炭鉱史を労働と労働災害の視座から検討することを目的とする。より具体的には、ともに個人所蔵の未整理資料である「三菱高島礦業所端島炭坑関係資料」（仮称、以下、「端島資料」と略す）と「原田正純旧蔵三井三池炭鉱炭じん爆発事故患者関係資料」（仮称、以下、「三池資料」と略す）を調査・整理・活用することにより、戦後の炭鉱における労働災害と、労働災害をもたらす炭鉱労働のあり方・環境を多面的に分析・解明することを目指すものである。【研究実施計画】この目的のため、本研究では、（1）「端島資料」と「三池資料」の保全・整理・目録作成、(2)両資料の来歴・性格および関連資料の調査・把握、(3)両資料ならびに関連資料の分析を通じて労働と労働災害の視座から戦後日本炭鉱史を再構成する、という3つの課題を設定し、課題(1)・(2）を〈基幹的研究〉に、課題(3)を〈発展的研究〉に位置付けている。本年度は、引き続き〈基幹的研究〉に注力し、課題(1)・(2）を継続した。【研究成果】課題（1）では、昨年度末、所蔵者より一括して引き取った「端島資料」について、引き続き殺虫・カビ拡大防止等の保全措置を講じつつ、整理作業を継続した。整理作業では、特に、質的・量的にも豊富で、系統的に情報を収集・分析することが可能な「離職者名簿」に注目して、そのデータ化を重点的に進めた。これまでに、約１５００名分のデータを採録している。また、「三池資料」については、継続して取り組んできた患者からの聞き取り記録の文字起こし作業を完了した。この作業を通じて、約８０万字を文字起こしした。課題（2）では、「端島資料」の一部が、福岡県直方市所蔵「筑豊文庫資料」のなかに紛れている可能性が確認され、「筑豊文庫資料」の調査を行った。

[Objective] This study aims to investigate the effects of natural disasters on the future development of Japan.
