项目摘要

西洋中世における女性のリテラシーに焦点を当て、「書く」という行為が社会的に持ち得た影響力を学問・学芸活動の文脈から考察した。分析対象である神秘主義文書は、時間や空間を超越した超自然的体験を主な記述対象とする。また、このジャンルの著作には女性の関与が多く見られる。そのため、従来の研究は女性による特殊な宗教的体験の記録と位置付けてきた。しかし、本研究は中世を通じて数百点に及ぶ写本が流布しえた作品は同時代の知識人や学術傾向と密接に関わった可能性があると考え、その具体的内容と背景の解明に取り組んだ。ヘルフタ修道院で作成されたテクスト群については、前年度に引き続き、ハッケボルンのメヒティルトとヘルフタのゲルトルートの幻視テクストにおける記述の変遷を辿ることで、通時的な発展過程を論じた。中でも、ゲルトルート『神の愛の使者』第1巻の構造分析を行い、スコラ的な分割の手法とサン・ヴィクトルのリカルドゥスの「上昇」という概念を組み合わせることで、個人的な幻視体験が修道院共同体の中で共有されるようになった過程を明らかにした。この点については研究報告、講演で発表を行った。その際の質疑応答を反映して論文として投稿し、1点は刊行済み、もう1点は現在編集作業中である。また、このような宗教性が修道院の周辺地域で受容された背景を明らかにするため、隣接するテューリンゲン地方で同時期に存在した聖人崇敬にも注目し、聖人伝や証書の分析を通じて女性の神秘体験が俗人信徒にも伝播し、信仰の対象として認められていたことを指摘した。
