本研究は、国内各地の博物館を対象とした事例調査を主体とするものであるが、2021年度から引き続き、2022年度も新型コロナ感染症の影響で現地調査の実施に制約がかかる中、すでに収集済みの資料の整理・検討を継続して進めた。加えて、地方企業家の社会貢献活動を歴史的に検証する新たな視点を獲得するために、社会事業史等の関連分野の資料の収集・検討にも着手した。これにより、これまでの研究の枠組みや成果を大いに補強することができた。また、学会活動や展示見学等による研究動向の把握等にも精力的に取り組んだ。具体的には、全日本博物館学会、日本ミュージアム・マネージメント学会、全国大学博物館学講座協議会等の博物館関連の学会・協会による研究大会等に参加し、博物館史研究者との交流を通じて、最新の研究動向の把握および本研究の成果発信等に努めた。また、神戸市立博物館で開催された特別展「よみがえる川崎美術館」をはじめとする、地方企業家による設立の博物館をテーマとした展示を見学し、あわせて、関連資料を収集することにより、本研究で事例調査の対象としている博物館の比較対象となるデータの蓄積に一層の進展が見られた。なお、2022年度には、共編者として2件の著書の執筆にも取り組んだ。いずれも2023年度内には刊行の見込みとなっている。内容はいずれも社会教育領域のものであるが、その執筆にあたっては、施設論の観点から、本研究で得られた成果が随所に役立てられた。
