本研究の目的は、タイの都市部における「クニの柱」という土地神信仰を事例とし、20世紀から現在にかけて、タイ国だけでなく中国華南・東南アジア諸国の基層社会に共通する、土着信仰と外来宗教の習合・混淆状況の実態を明らかにし、多文化が共存する現代タイ国の民俗宗教現象と日常的実践を詳細に把握することである。本年度は、タイに共存する異文化集団との比較研究を行うために、8-9月および1-2月に中国広東省潮州市などの移民の原郷にて、土地神信仰に関する資料収集を行う計画であったが、新型コロナウイルスによる入国制限および妊娠出産により延期となった。そのため、本年度は、タイの都市部バンコクを中心に、中国系移民の持ち込んだ土地神信仰およびタイのラック・ムオン信仰に関する文献の検討による比較研究を行った。また、対象地域を広げて先行研究を参照し、中国広東潮州地区のラオヤ（漢字で「老爺」と表記）という土地神信仰に関する文献の検討を行い、タイの事例との比較研究を行った。それらを踏まえ、8月にタイの関連研究会（2022 Chulalongkorn Asian Heritage Forum）において、「Worship of the God of the Land in Bangkok and Teochew」と題した発表を行った。その内容は、タイのバンコクと中国潮州の両方とも祀られている「老爺」という土地神を事例に、タイのラック・ムオン信仰と移民の持ち込んだ信仰との習合現象を検討した。今後は、両地域における土地神信仰を比較考察し、研究論文を執筆する予定である。そのほか、学内外の研究者と連携し、「東西キリスト教圏と仏教圏における神聖空間の比較研究」をテーマとし、上座部仏教圏のタイにおいて、民間信仰と仏教との共存・習合に形成される神聖空間の事例をもとに、比較研究を行う予定である。

The purpose of this study is to understand in detail the daily practice of folk religion phenomena in modern China since the 20th century, the common ground of grass-roots society in South China and Southeast China, the practice and confusion of indigenous beliefs and foreign religions, and the coexistence of multiple cultures. This year, a comparative study of different cultural groups was conducted in Chaozhou City, Eastern Province of China from August to September and January to February. This year, a comparative study was conducted on the literature of China's immigration and the belief in the land god. A comparative study of the literature on the belief in the god of the earth was carried out in Chaozhou, China. The theme of the 2022 Chulalongkorn Asian Heritage Forum was "Worship of the God of the Land in Bangkok and Teochew". The content of this article is to discuss the phenomenon of belief and practice in Chaozhou, China. In the future, we will make a comparative study of the belief in the earth god. "A Comparative Study of the Sacred Space between Eastern and Western Religious Circles," and "A Comparative Study of the Sacred Space between Eastern and Western Religious Circles."
