本研究では、フランスの「ジプシー」の間で大規模な改宗が進むペンテコステ派キリスト教を例に、西欧市民社会の普遍主義とせめぎ合い、共鳴するマイノリティの宗教実践を明らかにすることを目指している。本年度は、2年ぶりに渡仏し、調査地対象者のもとで参与観察とインタビュー調査を実施することができた。5月と9月の二度にわたり実施した現地調査では、コロナ禍でのペンテコステ派「ジプシー」の信徒集会の様子やマヌーシュ（ジプシー）共同体内部の改宗状況の推移、共同体内部における改宗者と未改宗者との関係について詳細な情報を得ることができた。本研究課題を申請した当初には予想できなかった結果であるが、「コロナ禍」という出来事を通してペンテコステ派「ジプシー」の信仰実践が多数派社会（および共同体内部の未改宗者）との間でさらなる緊張を生みだしていた様子を調査対象者から具体的に聞き取ることで、「「ジプシー」の新宗教実践は果たして本当に「フランス社会内部に民族の同一性に閉じた共同体をつくること」を志向しているのか？」という本研究の主要な問いを考察する重要な手掛かりを得ることになった点が大きな収穫である。また本年度は、現地調査と並行して、各種学会全国大会・研究会で研究発表を行い、関係研究者と意見交換を行うこともできた。加えて、改宗を選択する女性と改宗を拒む女性という二人のマヌーシュ女性たちのライフヒストリーをフェミニスト人類学と主体論の視点から分析する査読付き論文を学術誌に掲載することで、本研究課題に関わる研究成果を発表することもできた。さらに、主題は異なるが、ホロコーストの想起をめぐるロマのトランスナショナルな運動について考察した論文、および現代ロマ・アートに関する国際シンポジウム発表では、ロマ・ペンテコステ運動の背景として注視されている「ジプシー・ナショナリズム」に関する議論をまとめることができた。
